๐Ÿ’™ A Story of Hope, Generosity, and Impact

This past July 17th, Marifer received her wheelchair! Thanks to the funds raised during the last Chili Cookoff and the generous support of two beloved MEL members, this milestone became a beautiful reality.

The delivery took place at CRIT Mérida in a moving ceremony attended by Ana Cristina (MEL’s treasurer), Marifer’s therapists, and her family.

And the magic didn’t stop there.

We are proud to share that this story has inspired others within the MEL community. Our dear friend and long-time member Joan Farrell kindly donated the full amount needed for another child to receive vital equipment.

Thanks to Joan’s heartfelt contribution, Moisés, a 15-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, will soon receive the electric wheelchair that will grant him the independence he deserves. ๐Ÿงกโ™ฟโœจ

๐Ÿ“ฆ Book Carriers Needed : Help Us Bring the Magic of Books to MEL

MEL is deeply grateful to those who offer a bit of space in their luggage to bring books from the U.S. As you may know, English-language materials can be harder to find or more expensive in Mexico.

Thanks to your generous support, we’re able to keep our collection fresh, exciting, and budget-friendly for the entire community.

If you’d like to help us continue conjuring literary treasures for the library, please reach out to Marianne Kehoe at kehoedds@gmail.com.  Your suitcase could be carrying someone’s next favorite book! ๐Ÿงณ
